This yummy sweet treat is also known as Christmas Crack for a reason. With a sweet and salty crunch and only four main ingredients, this sweet treat will not disappoint.
1cupbutter2 sticks of REAL butter not oil based butter
1 1/2sleeve saltines crackers
Your favorite Christmas Sprinkles
1bag Chocolate chips
Red or Green Melting Candy for drizzle if desired
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place crackers all along baking sheet.
In a medium size saucepan melt butter and brown sugar over medium high heat. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil for 3 minutes.
Pour mixture over crackers. Use a spatula to smooth out toffee mixture all over crackers.
Bake for 5-7 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool for 2-3 minutes. Pour chocolate chips all over toffee and spread out with a spatula until smooth. Tip – Pop back in the oven just for a few seconds if chocolates need help melting.
If you are adding colored drizzle to the top follow the package directions. Use a spoon to drizzle all over chocolate moving spoon back and forth quickly and repeating until desired look is achieved. Top with sprinkles when done with drizzle.
Cool in refrigerator for 2 hours.
Remove from fridge and snap into pieces of all sizes. Store candy pieces in fridge and set out right before serving. Keep leftovers (if there are any) in the fridge. Enjoy!
