Who said you have to leave the house to enjoy yummy Donuts? Make these easy homemade donuts that are still just as fluffy and sweet as the ones from the Donut Shop.
Heat a large skillet with about an inch of oil over medium high heat.
Separate all of your biscuits on a flat surface and flatten each one just a little to make sure the biscuit is even.
Poke or cut holes (I used a ½ oz jigger) in the center of each Biscuit. Set center aside for Donut Holes.
When oil is hot put a Donut hole in to make sure it is hot enough to fry (bubbles should form on all sides) should only take a few minutes to brown. If oil is hot enough add Donuts to your pan and cook each side 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
Set donuts on a plate lined with paper towels so oil can be absorbed. While donuts are cooling make the chocolate icing.
In a bowl mix together powder sugar, cocoa, vanilla and 1 tbsp of water or milk. Add in the other tablespoon of liquid until icing is slightly thick but still runny.
Dip the top of each Donut and Donut Hole into the chocolate and make sure entire top is covered. Set on a plate and add sprinkles before icing dries.
Let chocolate icing dry for 5 minutes and Enjoy.
If you like Powdered Sugar Donuts or want to make both we roll our Donut Holes in a bowl with powder sugar. You just turn or roll each one until the entire Donut is covered in powdered sugar. This way tasted just like a Funnel Cake – No Lie.
Alternate Chocolate Icing Recipe - Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 1 tablespoon of butter to microwave safe bowl. Heat for one minute stirring halfway through. Chocolate should be melted until there are no lumps and has a smooth consistency.
