The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
These chocolate chip cookies are perfect for a crowd, sweet treat on movie night, or the new mom that stays up all night. This chocolate chip cookie recipe will put a smile on any cookie lovers face!
I love baking cookies, and it is Harper’s favorite thing to make (and eat) with me. Cookies can be super easy to make and you can create so many different flavor combinations. But, you can never go wrong with a good ol’ fashion chocolate chip cookie.
I like this recipe because it is great to use as a base and start creating your own flavors. Mix in your favorite candies, such as festive holiday M&M’s for Monster Cookies, or your favorite candy bar or baking chips. This is THE ONLY chocolate chip recipe base you need to get creative with, so go for it!
Freezable Cookie Dough for Fresh Warm Cookies Anytime
This recipe is also great if you like to keep cookie dough on hand (or just feel lazy and want to throw some in the oven). You can enjoy fresh cookies anytime by simply freezing the dough. With this recipe, it makes about 2 1/2 – 3 dozen cookies (depending on the size of your cookies).
When we make a batch of cookies for ourselves, we bake however many we want to eat that night, then freeze the rest. If you are going to freeze some, roll the dough into balls (like you would if you were baking them, an ice cream scoop also works great), line cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze.
Once cookie balls are completely frozen, remove from freezer and place in a freeze safe bag. Keep cookies frozen until you are ready to bake. This is great for slumber parties, movie night, or a warm dessert after dinner without all the fuss.
I just love knowing we can have fresh warm cookies in less than 15 minutes when we have frozen dough on hand. As always, cookies are best served with an ice cold glass of milk 🙂
