A frozen margarita is a must have when we go eat at any Mexican restaurant. I love to taste how different restaurants make their margaritas. Some can be super sweet while others can be to watery, but finding that perfect margarita always hits the spot.

My brother in law introduced me to this recipe and it has been my go to frozen margarita recipe ever since. I did not make frozen margaritas at home much before this recipe because I never cared for the taste, until this one.

First, you HAVE to have a good blender to make a smooth margarita, which I think is important. Having ice chunks in your frozen margarita is no fun! I just love that smoothness you get in a restaurant margarita.

We have this Ninja blender/food processor and I love it! To get that extra smooth texture I definitely like to blend for at least 5-7 minutes tp make sure it is nice and smooth.

This is my go to blender to make homemade salsa and smoothies too! In fact, I got my mom to make the switch after she made a batch of salsa at my house. She loved how the salsa turned out so she went and got one for herself.

Making the Perfect Frozen Margarita

The secret to this recipe is the frozen lime concentrate, it keeps the margarita sweet and not watery. After making your frozen margaritas you can add freshly squeezed lime or a float of Grand Marnier on top.

You can always add as much (or as little) tequila and triple sec as you would like but this is a good base recipe to get you started. If it seems a bit sweet for your taste try adding more ice to cut the sweetness.
