I absolutely love asparagus, I think it has to be one of my favorite green veggies. This is definitely one of my favorite ways to eat it, grilled with a yummy secret sauce you brush on while grilling.
The one thing that makes this grilled asparagus so good is the secret sauce. It really makes the asparagus taste amazing!
To make the secret sauce you will need fresh asparagus, soy sauce, olive oil salt/pepper and your favorite seasoning (I use steak seasoning for this recipe). Metal skewers work best as they are thin and can skewer the asparagus easily without it breaking.
This recipe can be easily modified to fit Whole 30 as well. Substitute the soy sauce for Coconut Aminos and make sure you use compliant seasoning or just use salt/pepper and garlic powder.
While your grill heats up skewer the asparagus and set aside. Combine soy sauce and olive oil in a bowl and add seasonings and mix well. It will separate after just mix it a little each time you glaze the asparagus.
Add asparagus to the grill and brush with soy sauce mixture. Keep brushing and turning asparagus until cooked to your liking. We like ours to burn a little and get the tips nice and crispy.
Serve with your favorite protein and Enjoy.
Grilled Asparagus with Secret Sauce
- One Bunch of fresh asparagus
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- favorite seasoning, we use steak seasoning for this recipe
Directions: Heat grill and cut ends off asparagus, about 3 inches up from bottom or where the white starts to fade to green. Skewer asparagus in the middle of the stalk and set aside. Mix the soy sauce, olive oil, salt/pepper and seasoning together in a small bowl.
Once grill is heated place asparagus on grill and brush on soy sauce mixture. Turn asparagus every few minutes while brushing with sauce each time (be careful olive oil will make fire flare up). Cook until asparagus has nice grill marks on all sides. We like ours a bit overcooked so the tips are charred.
